Latest research shows that the substances found in various plant products can regulate blood sugar levels in people at risk of heart disease and diabetes.
Researchers also found that a diet, rich in herbal antioxidants polyphenols, reduces the level of sugar in the blood.
Antioxidants can be found in many foods such as green tea, olive oil, coffee and dark chocolate.
– Green tea
Blood sugar tends to rise over the aging process. However, thanks to polyphenols and polysaccharides, which are present in green tea, you can prevent the increase in blood sugar.
– Olive oil
By regularly consuming olive oil you will be able to protect yourselves from diabetes type 2. Olive oil also has the ability to regulate insulin level.
– Coffee
Even though coffee possesses the ability to reduce the risk of diabetes, do not over consume it.
– Dark chocolate
Dark chocolate contains flavonoid which regulates blood sugar level. Same as for the coffee; do not over consume dark chocolate because you will not gain any health benefits.
In another study, coffee, green tea and dark chocolate benefits were researched. It has been found that these antioxidants, in addition to reducing the risk of diabetes and heart disease, can prevent certain types of cancer and improve brain work.
